The purpose of Gizzards is to constantly grind up the food consumed by the chicken in the place of actual teeth, transforming this organ into a tough and lean muscle
For such a small organ, chicken gizzards are high in protein, cartilage, and contains iron, zinc, minerals, and vitamins C, E, B, and B12. They are also high in Glucosamine, which is beneficial to your pet’s cartilage and joints and is often used as a treatment for arthritis
That all said, it is on the high side if cholesterol, so make sure you do not exceed 20% of the daily diet here!
